Detailed itinerary
Wakeup very early, prepare and at 3:00am set off from Kigali and drive via Rwanda’s rolling hills and cross to Uganda. The drive time from Kigali to Mgahinga is roughly 5 hours. Report at Ntebeko visitor information centre for the pre gorilla trekking briefing and registration. At 8:00am, start off the trek to meet the endangered gorillas in their family. Trekking time range between 30 minutes to several hours depending on where mountain gorillas will be located that day. Also, the trekking time depend on the speed of the slowest person in the group.
After meeting the gorillas, you spend an hour in their presence. This hour is counted from the time a traveler sets an eye on the gorillas. Travelers are reminded to keen calm, take as many as pictures as possible, capture live videos and enjoy the human like characters of the gorillas. Nyakagyezi gorilla family recently received a new baby gorilla bringing the total number of gorilla members to 9.
After seeing the gorillas, hike back, receive your trekking certificate and drive back to Kigali for your return flight.
