Day 1: Pick up & Transfer to Bukavu
Our company representative (your driver-guide) will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali or from Kigali international airport and drive through the rolling hills crossing over to Congo via Cyagungu border. The scenic drive offers you the best views of Rwanda’s green sceneries and the Virunga volcanoes. Dinner and overnight stay at Orchids Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Eastern Lowland gorilla trekking
Today you wake up early, have breakfast and with your packed lunch, transfer to the park headquarters. Register and assemble for a briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. Trekking to see eastern lowland gorillas start at 8:00 am. Follow the directions of your ranger guides hiking for as short as 30 minutes or else several hours before meeting the gorillas. On meeting them, be calm, take pictures, observe their social behaviour, capture videos and enjoy the company of these gentle giants. Kahuzi Biega is home to four eastern lowland gorillas which are habituated for trekking. Dinner and overnight stay at Orchids Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali
Wake up to have breakfast, check out and drive back to Kigali for your connecting flight at Kigali International airport.
