The 7 Days safari introduces you to the endangered mountain gorillas, chimpanzees and other wildlife on a single trip.  Go gorilla trekking in the jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park home to half of the world’s gorillas. Bwindi Forest shslters over 500 mountain gorilla which live in 20 families.

Gorilla groups in Bwi9bndi Forest include Mubare, Habinyanja, Rushehura, Kyaguliro, Kahungye, Nshongi, Oruzogo, Nkuringo, Katwe, Chrismas, Kutu, Rwigi and Busingye among others. Each gorilla family is visited by a group of eight travelers per day. Each gorilla permit in Bwindi Forest costs $700 allowing you to spend an hour with the endangered gorillas.

The 7 Days Uganda safari also take you to trek chimpanzeees in Kibale Forest National park also called the “Primate Capital of Africa”.  Chimpanzees are man’s closest relatives who share over 98% of human genes. Trekking chimpanzees costs $200 per permit. The other primates in Kibale Foerst include Redtaield monkeys, white and black colubus, Vervet monkeys, baboons, L’Hoest mangabey, Blue monkeys and Grey cheeked managebeys among others.

Still on the 7 Days Uganda safari, enjoy guided game viewing and boat cruising experience in Queen Elizabeth National park. The park is Uganda’s second largest park which shelters a high concentration o wild animals and birds. Ishasha sector is home to the endangered tree climbing lions while Kasenyi plains are best for the experimental lion tracking experience.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Kibale Forest National park
Our driver-guide will pick you up from Entebbe airport or your hotel in Kampala/ Entebbe and transfer to Kibale Forest National park. Have a stopover at Nakayima spiritual tree in Mityana and proceed to Fort portal for lunch. Drive through the clean and beautiful city of Fort Portal proceeding to Kibale Forest. Dinner and overnight stay at Primates Lodge/ Chimpanzee Forest Guest House

Day 2: chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland walk

Rise up early, have breakfast, get your packed lunch and transfer to Kanyanchu information center for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. Trekking to see chimpanzees starts at 8:00am, lasting for as short as 30 minutes or several hours depending on chimpanzee location and their speed of movements that day.

On meeting chimpanzees, spend an hour in their company, learn about their social behaviors, take pictures, capture videos and enjoy this lifetime experience. In the evening, go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary for a fresh feeling of a natural environment. Dinner and overnight stay at Primates Lodge/ Chimpanzee Forest Guest House

Day 3: Transfer to QENP – Boat Cruise
After morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy the 3 hours drive overseeing local communities, farms and Rwenzori ranges. Reach QENP in the afternoon, have lunch and embark on a boat cruise at Kazinga channel.

The cruise is the best spot for birds such as African kingfisher, African Fish eagle, Hammer kop, White Egrets, Ibises, and yellow-billed stork among others. Also look out for water animals such as crocodiles, hippos, and buffalos seen resting lazily at the riverbank. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Ihamba Game Lodge/ UWA Bandas

Day 4: Game viewing & transfer to Bwindi
Wake up very early and go for a dawn game viewing in the open savannahs of the park. Queen Elizabeth National park is known to have a high concentration of wild animals including elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, Impalas, Elands, Topis, Waterbucks, Warthogs, and bush pigs among others which you will see at a close range. Return to the lodge for breakfast, check out and drive through Ishasha sector transferring to Bwindi Forest with en-route lunch. Dinner and overnight stay at Mahogany springs Lodge/ Buhoma community Camp/ Bakiga Lodge.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking & Batwa visit
Wake up on a cup of coffee and with your packed lunch drive to the respective Bwindi park headquarters for registration and briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. The trek t see gorillas start at 8:00 am lasting for 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of gorillas that day. The good news is that you are assured of meeting gorillas at the end of the day. After meeting them, you will spend an hour in their company.

Learn about their social characters, take photos, capture videos and see how each gorilla plays a different role in his/her family. If time allows, visit Batwa pygmies to learn about their traditional forest life and for a cultural performance. Dinner and overnight stay at Mahogany Springs Lodge/ Buhoma community Camp/ Bakiga Lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Mburo & game viewing
After breakfast, check out and start off a drive to Lake Mburo National park via Kabale Ntungamo road. Reach in the afternoon, have lunch and in the evening go for game viewing to catch up with a glimpse of zebras, giraffes, lions and bush pigs among other animals feeding before retiring for night rests. Overnight stay at Mihingo Lodge/ Mpogo Lodge/ Arcadia cottages.

Day 7: Departure
Wake up early, have breakfast check out and drive back to Kampala for your connecting flight.
