Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Karisimbi Hiking – Overnight at the Summit
Early in the morning, you will transfer to Kinigi headquarters of Volcanoes National park for registration, briefing about the rules, regulations and safety precautions of Karisimbi hiking. If you are in Kigali, you will set off at 4:30 am to reach Kinigi at 7:00 am and catch up with the briefing. The hike to the summit of Mt Karsimbin (4507m above the sea level) takes rough6y 6- 7 hours depending on your physical fitness and hiking abilities. The slopes of the volcano shelter the Karismbi gorilla family which you stand chances of meeting plus various other primates and birds. Overnight stay at the summit of the Volcano.
Day 2: Descend & transfer to Kigali
Wake up early to experience the sunrise, have a cup of coffee and hike down to meet your driver-guide at the base of the Volcano. Drive to Kigali airport for your connecting flight.
