Detailed itinerary
Day1: Pick up from Kigali & transfer to Bwindi Forest
Your driver-guide (our company representative) will pick you from Kigali airport or your hotel in Kampala and take you for a city tour through Kigali. Visit popular tourist sites such as the Kigali genocide memorial center, Kigali Convection Centre and local markets among others. Have lunch in Kigali and thereafter cross over to Uganda through the Cyanika border in Kisoro and drive straight to Rushaga sector, south of Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Safari Lodge/ Ichumbi Lodge/ Gorilla Valley Lodge.
Day2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi & Batwa Cultural Trail
Today you wake up early, have breakfast, get your packed lunch and transfer to the park headquarters for registration and briefing about the dos and do not of gorilla trekking. The hike to see gorillas start at 8:00 am and it may be short or long depending on where mountain gorillas will be located that day. Spend an hour with the endangered gorillas, embrace their human-like characters, take pictures, have fun and enjoy this memorable adventure. In the evening of time allows, visit Batwa communities for a cultural performance. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Safari Lodge/ Ichumbi Lodge/ Gorilla Valley Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi- boat cruise
Wake up to have a cup of coffee, check out of the lodge and drive to Lake Bunyonyi, Africa’s second deepest Lake. Enjoy a boat cruise to explore different islands of Lake Bunyonyi, feel the cool water breezes and have fun. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Rock resort/ Bird nest Resort, Bunyonyi Eco Lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Rise up early, have a cup of coffee, check out and river though the rolling hill of Kigezi connecting to Queen Elizabeth National park through Ishasha sector, home to the famous tree-climbing lions. Reach in the afternoon and go for a boat cruise at Kazinga channel whose bans shelter numerous bird species and animals. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge, Ihamba Lodge, Katara Lodge.
Day 5: Game viewing & transfer to Kibale forest
In the early morning, go for game viewing in the open plains to catch-up with wild animals feeding before retiring for day rests. Queen Elizabeth Park is Uganda’s second largest park with a high concentration of wild animals including elephants, lion, buffalos, Uganda kobs, elands, Topis, Waterbucks, Warthogs, and leopards among others. You will have a close encounter with these animals, take their pictures and have a memorable wildlife encounter. Return to the lodge for late breakfast, refresh and wait for lunch. Day 6: chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland walk
Have morning breakfast, get your packed lunch and transfer to Kanyanchu visitor information center for registration and briefing about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking. At 8:00 am, start off the hike to meet chimpanzees, the closest relatives to man. Enjoy the magical social traits of chimpanzees, take pictures, capture videos and enjoy this memorable encounter. In the evening, go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary, home to numerous birds and primates. The nature walk rewards you with a fresh feeling of the natural environment. Day 7: Transfer to Kampala/ Kigali
