This two-day itinerary allows you to fully immerse yourself in the adventure of white water rafting on the Nile River while also enjoying Jinja’s natural beauty and adrenaline rush. It’s a perfect getaway for adventure enthusiasts on Uganda safaris.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Departure
Leave Kampala or Entebbe early in the morning (around 7 AM) for the approximately 2-3hour drive to Jinja, the adventure capital of Uganda. Upon arrival in Jinja, check into your accommodation and prepare for your white water rafting adventure. You’ll receive a briefing from the rafting company’s guides, who will explain safety procedures, rafting techniques, and what to expect on the river.
Start your rafting adventure in the afternoon. The half-day rafting session typically covers the lower section of the Nile River, including rapids like “Bujagali Falls” and “Total Gunga.” Enjoy the thrill of navigating through Class III to V rapids, depending on the water levels and the chosen route. After rafting, return to your accommodation to relax and unwind. You can enjoy dinner at your lodge or explore one of the restaurants in Jinja town.
Day 2: Full-Day Rafting (Upper Nile Section):
Start early in the morning for the full-day rafting adventure. This session typically covers the upper section of the Nile River, offering more intense rapids such as “The Bad Place” and “Itanda Falls.” Experience a combination of adrenaline-pumping rapids and serene stretches of the river, surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife.
Take lunch breaks and enjoy the Nile River’s natural beauty between rafting sections. Your guides will provide meals and refreshments throughout the day. After completing the full-day rafting adventure, return to Kampala/Entebbe in the late afternoon.
