Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
In the early morning, our driver-guide will pick you up fro the airport or your hotel in Kampala and transfer to Kibale Forest National park. Enjoy the scenic drive through tea plantations, farms, and town with a lunch stop in Fort portal. Thereafter, proceed to Kibale Forest, the primate capital in Africa. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge, Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland walk
Today you will wake up early, have breakfast and with our packed lunch transfer to Kanyanchu information center for registration and briefing about the rules and regulations of Chimpanzee trekking. At 8:00 am, start off the hike to meet the endangered species in their communities. Spend an hour in the company of your lost cousins, enjoy their human-like characters, take photos and enjoy this magical encounter. In the evening, join a nature walk to Bigodi wetland sanctuary, the best spot for birds and primates. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge, Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Crater Lakes
After having a cup of coffee, check out of the lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth, Uganda’s second-largest National Park. Drive through the park to explore the crater lakes especially Katwe salt mines, Lake Nyamunuka which has healing waters and Lake Munyanyange for the famous flamingoes. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Ihamba Safari Lodge/ UWA Bandas
Day 4: Game viewing & boat cruise
In the early morning, transfer to the open grasslands of the park for game viewing. Morning game drives offer you an up-close encounter with numerous animals such as elephants, buffalos, impalas, elands, Topis, Uganda kobs, hippos, waterbucks and warthogs grazing, browsing and hunting in the park. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and wait for a hot lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise a Kazinga channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George. The bat cruise also offers you great views of numerous birds, wild water animals and neighboring fishing villages plus a fresh feeling of the cold breezes. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Ihamba Safari Lodge/ UWA Bandas
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive back to Kampala to catch up with your connecting flight at Entebbe International airport.
